A body of work about Yazidi refugees and fighters in Iraq, where the mostly Kurdish-speaking people have been targeted by Islamic
State troops. Under IS, Yazidis, who adhere to a syncretistic religion, are given the choice to convert to Sunnism or be killed. In 2014,
a massacre in Sinjar led to an estimated 50,000 Yazidis under seige on Mount Sinjar for nearly four months. In Zakho, those who
fled the Shingal region continue to live in squalid conditions.
