2012 Award Recipients
Once again BD’s Hope for a Healthy World Photo Competition invited photographers
to tell stories using imagery on a wide variety of global health topics.
The winners’ work will be used to raise awareness and influence opinion on important
health-related issues. The photographs will appear in an exhibit that will debut at
the LOOK3 Festival of the Photograph, June 7-9, 2012 in Charlottesville, VA.

Maxim Dondyuk, Best Global Health Story, Winner
Patients being treated for tuberculosis (TB) at the Starozburevskaya
Correctional Colony in Ukraine. Dondyuk uses his photography to bring
attention to the TB epidemic in Ukraine, long ignored by society,
government and the media.
