the landscape” that is the result of the privatization of the area, Wyatt says.
Instead he wanted to “show the stunning nature of this place,” in a way that would
create “a jarring effect [for the viewer] once they see hopefully resonant, striking
photographs and then realize that this [privatization] is the administrative situation
in this place,” he explains. “I didn’t want to judge but rather just draw attention more
gently to the situation.” Hence the title of the series, “Huangshan Ltd.”
